Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord

Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord.

I have finally had my results meeting and my surgeon has told me that they 'got all the cancer' and there is no spread to my lymph nodes. Praise the Lord, o my soul.

I still face a year of treatment - including potential radiotherapy - to prevent the aggressive Her2 cancer returning, but I feel a new lightness in my soul today and sense of new beginnings.

Words cannot sufficiently express how grateful and my family and are, but Psalm 116 from this morning's Daily Prayer says it all.


'I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Lord, save me!”

Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.

For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.
